Preserving the safety and welfare of the nation’s citizenry both at home and abroad should be the highest priority or essential function of the federal government achieved through a well-funded, well-trained, technologically-advanced military force that is mission-oriented for the purpose of deterrence in the first instance or when necessary having the requisite capacity and competency for overwhelming, strategic and successful engagement. Additionally, the paramount importance of secure borders - both operationally and functionally - ensures the best defense for the homeland, which has been willfully and woefully hobbled by the current administration. Corrective action is critical to restore the Constitutional guarantee provided in Article IV, Section 4: “The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence.”

Discernment and moral clarity concerning the real threats to our national security will better position the United States to recognize and address the geo-political challenges today and in the future. Notably, China (and more specifically the Chinese Communist Party) must be designated (and thus treated) as our primary existential threat for numerous reasons. The CCP has proven its malevolence by their own actions, policies, tactics, and strategies to be a disruptor, agitator, aggressor, “bad” actor in terms of Fentanyl production, distribution and widespread death from poisonings in the United States and around the world, the rampant theft of Intellectual Property, arms proliferation, WMD development as well as modern-day slavery (and population control) of its domestic Uighur (Muslim) population and environmentally devastating colonialism-on-steroids involving grievous child labor exploitation within developing countries across the globe (especially in Africa) in their unrelenting efforts to access and extract rare earth minerals and control the global market - characterized innocuously as the “Belt and Road” project.

As the sole significant global superpower, the United States can also restore a more intelligent foreign policy posture as we partner with our allies across the globe to promote peace and security while defending against aggression and violence instigated, funded, threatened, perpetuated, and exercised by autocratic regimes such as China, Iran, Russia and North Korea. We must faithfully stand beside the nation of Israel as our loyal ally and friend as they pursue their quintessential national security interests in the preservation of the perpetual homeland of the Jewish people.

There needs to be a unified, integrated and sophisticated approach to national security and the major threats that we face from evil state-actors, global jihadist / terrorist organizations, drug cartel networks, domestic agitators and anarchists, cyber-terrorism and biological warfare threats. Any funding allocated to national security or national defense must also be considered through the lens of prudent and accountable fiscal expenditures as well as the full faith and reputation of our obligations and commitments. Moreover, such a reality-based and fact-focused assessment of U.S. national security threats and priorities would recognize the paltry assertions about the purported “crisis-level urgency” demanded by the anthropogenic Global Climate Change alarmists. To the extent that one may consider the relative salience of their argument, its placement is more appropriately at the bottom of the threat assessment - not at the top of the list.
